What Identity Accounts can't do:

• /admin/console/ : ban_list, ban_set, ban_unset, be target of set_underage, will be seen as !person in get_maintainer.
• have an FOAF File.
• be displayed in foaf files.
• have yadis authentication in yadis view.
• vote in polls.
• post events via protocol.
• post backdated entries. (can't post anyway.)
• be listed in portal bdays box.
• add tags.
• control tags.
• /tools/sixdegrees.bml : be included in chains.
• have an email address.
• be present in xmlrpc output from friendgroup listing request.
• have a journal.
• be listed in portal friends box.
• view protected entries on S2 DayPage.
• have non-delinkified comments.
• view protected entries on S2 MonthPage.
• /editjournal.bml : edit entries.
• /userinfo.bml : split friend lists into 3 groups.
• /community/create.bml : create community accounts.
• /community/join.bml : join a community.
• /community/manage/bml : manage communities.
• /community/members.bml : be invited to communities.
• /community/settings.bml : manage community settings.
• /changepassword.bml : change password. (openid accounts don't have passwords by design.)
• /manage/emailpost.bml : post mobile posts.
• /manage/tags.bml : manage tags.
• /tools/recent_comments.bml : latest posted comments. nor latest received for that matter since they don't have a journal.
• /view/index.bml : view protected entries.

however, when viewing recent view they *can* view protected entries.

They can view protected entries of users who have them friended. They will appear on the recent view of those friends and on the Friends Page of the Identity user.

They cannot comment on friends-only entries because they are lumped together with anonymous comments. I think. I haven't thoroughly tested that bit. --kunzite1 23:41, 14 November 2006 (EST)

For foxfirefey: Consider adding MicroID Extension. A MicroID is a special <meta> tag used for verifying the identity of the owner of a webpage. Handy for verifying my ownership of pages I claim in my claimID.

Consider adding OpenID Extension. Allows logging in to MediaWiki as OpenID user. Allows using userpage URL as OpenID identity.

Added the MicroID with generation opt-in for users.

I've considered adding the OpenID extension and we've talked about it before, but everywhere I can find it is very outdated, using old versions of MediaWiki *and* OpenID.
