Talk:Canview
From No LJ Ads Wiki
The viewall privilege is no longer used. It's been replaced with canview, which can have arguments such as canview:suspended. Its list is also private. The query string is still used with canview. The viewall privilege has been left for backward compatibility, I think (for sites that still use it).
Should this article use a link to canview, rather than viewall privilege list?
I think something about how in the past it was the viewall query string arg. Then that now, in the present time, this has been since changed to canview. Including a better description of each.
Or. Viewall can exist here, canview can be another page, and viewall can link to canview.

- This paragraph is misleading: "No argument will allow the user to see entries regardless of their security. viewall=suspended means the user can view public posts in a suspended journal." It confuses the query string with the privilege. The argument in use is ?viewall=1 (not ?viewall= or viewall=suspended). The privilege just defines what the person can see when he applies ?viewall=1.
- Re: the discussion above about canview vs viewall. The query string argument is still ?viewall=1, but the privilege was renamed to canview. -- camomiletea 21:44, 28 February 2010 (PST)
