Switching from Plus to Basic

From No LJ Ads Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

New journals and communities created on LiveJournal are set to the free but ad-laden Plus account level by default during the creation process, unless you specifically select the Paid options. While the ad-free and money-free Basic account level is not available during the creation process, you can downgrade to it once you've set up your account. This guide has been made to help you (or anyone else who switched on purpose and just forgot how to go back) switch back to it.

Personal journals switching to Basic will lose some features; however, the ads on their journals and profiles will be removed. If you can live with six icons and don't want styles reserved for Plus users, switching back to Basic is a very good idea. Personal communities switching to Basic will only lose access to some styles as the Plus level offers almost no extra features for communities.

We also have categories on Ad Blocking Techniques and LiveJournal Advertising for those wishing to not see ads on LiveJournal at all.
