[edit] SUP Services

SUP handles the serving of static files such userpics, graphics, and style sheets used in LiveJournal design templates.

SUP handles the serving and, in some cases, the placement of ads.

SUP users have extra services such as increased account quotas, private and public counters, free voice post phone numbers in Russia and CIS countries, additional Virtual Gifts, the possibility to pay with Yandex Money, their own gift shop, local language customer support, the possibility for SUP Plus users to use the Mass Security tool. Some of these services are provided by LJPlus, a third party website that SUP bought.

SUP has also adapted two of LiveJournal site schemes. In Horizon and Dystopia, a menu with links to the external website Livejournal.ru has been added. In Horizon, this menu replaces the link called 'Home'.

[edit] Opting out of SUP

Users who wish to stop being considered as SUP-eligible users can go to Support and ask to be removed from SUP by using one of the following request templates. However, they "may continue to see static files, such as images and ads, served from a Russian-based IP if the networking would be more efficient for [their] particular location."

Hello!

I've heard that Russian company "SUP Fabric" has the intention to provide additional services for LiveJournal users, who prefer to write their blogs in Russian.

I am such a person, but I don't want to be considered to be presented as Russia based, nor do I want any additional services by any Russian company, including "SUP Fabric's".

Could you remove my account from any affiliations and pre-selections associated with "SUP Fabric"?

Thank you!

I am a Cyrillic-writing user, and by that means my LJ happen to get under your partner SUP services.

I can see that you have started to execute opting-out from SUP as you and SUP promised, and a great many people have been removed.

I ask you to also remove me from the pool of accounts eligible for opting into extra services provided by SUP.

Thank you in advance.

Support will then ask you to confirm that you really want to opt out then finally remove you when you have done so.
