The Navigation Strip is a toolbar that appears on the top of journal pages if the owner or viewer has enabled it. The owner's preferences override those of the viewer; that is, if the owner has enabled the "Always show the navigation strip to anyone who views your journal or community" option in the Viewing Options settings, it will display to any viewer of the journal, even if the viewer has not selected "Always see the navigation strip when you view any journal or community".

If the viewer is logged out, the NavStrip contains a small log in form. If the viewer is logged in, their icon is displayed along with links to common site features and context-sensitive options.

Journals with an S2 Layout can customize the colors of the NavStrip on their journal in the Custom Options tab of the Journal Display area.

We have two guides related to the NavStrip: Removing the NavStrip and Removing CProds from the NavStrip.
