Movable Type
From No LJ Ads Wiki
Movable Type was the original Six Apart product made by Mena Trott and Ben Trott. Six Apart also runs an Movable Type based service in the form of TypePad.
WordPress seems to be Movable Type's main competitor in the marketplace, especially after the licensing snafu. People are still having issues with MT service. Others accuse Six Apart of stagnating development on some of their properties due to their diversification, like Vox. (Previously, users dissatisfied with the speed of Movable Type's development tended to point fingers at TypePad or the acquisition of LiveJournal.)
However, MT4 was released in September. MT4 is notable for having an open source version, something new to Movable Type.
In short, while many people do praise Movable Type for various reasons, it is probably not the platform to move to if you are dissatisfied with Six Apart's handling of LiveJournal and want to host your own blogging.
