Horizon

| Horizon |
Horizon was developed from the new site scheme code named BetaNav and is meant to replace XColibur. Its complement, meant to replace Dystopia, will be called Vertigo. XColibur and Dystopia have remained options after Horizon's debut, but they probably will not be developed on as new features are added, although people might be able to submit patches.
Horizon's name was decided by a poll posted in
feedback. Posts about the reasons LiveJournal was making a new site scheme, the philosophy behind it and feedback received were made in
lj_design during its development.
Horizon became the new default site scheme on September 14th. This was problematic because the copy-paste bug in IE6 had not been fixed yet. And Horizon still has problems printing in Firefox.
The scheme also has issues when catering to those who need to browse with a larger text size, although it appears to remain useable in Firefox.

[edit] Holidays
Horizon is often reschemed, usually for holidays, just for fun.
[edit] Talk Like A Pirate Day 2006
On September 19th, 2006, Horizon was partially reschemed. The usual logo was replaced with a Piratey logo:
Other modifications occurred throughout the site: the userinfo icon for personal accounts was modified and so was Frank. On the Update page, the 'Post' button label was changed into 'Captain's Log'.
