LiveJournal uses HitBox to do statistics tracking. There is a post discussing the latest issues of its inclusion here ([info]lj_biz) in the LiveJournal Business community and another past post here ([info]lj_biz).

HitBox's subdomain on LiveJournal is 

hbstats.livejournal.com

In case you feel like blocking it. You can also use the opt_exclude_stats console command to opt out of HitBox tracking.
