Google AdSense is Google's ad distribution network for websites. The text ads on LiveJournal come from this program.

Ads displayed by AdSense can be CPC or CPM and there are text, image, and video ads available for websites to publish. Google has faced accusations both of profiting from click fraud and wrongly freezing the accounts of AdSense users for suspected click fraud.
