Many of these guides are specific to LiveJournal's ad implementation, but many techniques can be used for general ad blocking.

Note that all of these techniques are for viewers of journals, not the journal itself. Although it is certainly possible to use trickery to block ads from general display on a Plus journal (lj_dev), we do not explore those possibilities here.
