auth=digest will allow you to use an RSS feed to view friended entries.
It's also useful for bots trying to automatically retrieve pages that might have protected info. (Note: auth=digest can only show protected information that the given user is capable of seeing! It is not a hole or hacky way to view material you do not have access to.)
